May 27, 2016- A man murdered his wife and daughter by bludgeoning them with an iron rod in Pokhara on Friday.

Bimal Pun, of Ratodanda in Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan-14, murdered his 26-year-old wife Narmaya, and six-year-old daughter Purnima.

The mother and daughter died on the spot when Pun bludgeoned them on their heads with a rod, DSP at Kaski District Police Office Gaju Siddhi Bajracharya said. He has been arrested by the police.

Though the initial investigation has revealed that Bimal was admitted to a mental hospital a few months, the reason behind the murder has not been known.
